Independent Medical Examiner (IME) – Neurology / Psychiatry / Orthopedic Physician

Job Details
The New York State Office of the State Comptroller (OSC) is seeking Board-Certified Physicians to perform Independent Medical Examinations (IMEs) for referred claimants. This role includes objective specialty-based evaluations, medical record review, report preparation, and testimony when required.

Responsibilities
Conduct specialty-specific IMEs
Review medical records, imaging, and treatment history
Perform objective clinical assessments
Prepare detailed IME reports
Submit documentation within required timelines
Provide expert testimony when required
Maintain HIPAA and OSC compliance standards

Qualifications
MD or DO
Active New York State medical license
Board Certified in Neurology, Psychiatry, or Orthopedic Surgery
Minimum 5 years clinical experience
IME / disability / forensic experience preferred
Ability to provide sworn testimony
Clean disciplinary record
